Dipsters NP 1898 24hr GB Game. Read game listing before joining.
Welcome to Ben01, a fast-paced Dipsters Group
game.
This is an 1898 Variant no press fast gunboat game
with 24 hour deadlines occurring on weekdays only.
To join this game you must be a member of either
The Dipsters Group or Diplomacy Direct
http://www.dipsters.org
-or-
you must have an ontime record greater than 90% on the judges
and you must have no willingly abandoned games.
Do not attempt to join this game if you do not meet
these requirements.
I am naming a number of games after the players,
characters, and events in the classic Dipsters Game,
'Perfect' on USOS. Please refer to the Kibitz Group
for additional information:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/kibitz00/
Ben Harris was the Kaiser in Perfect and responsible
for much of the early excitement.
In the 1898 variant, the game starts in Spring of 1899
with each power having one unit.
Each country must capture its other home centers
before it can build in them. The initial setup is:
Austria - Army Trieste
England - Fleet Edinburgh
France - Army Brest
Germany - Army Kiel
Italy - Army Naples
Russia - Army St. Petersburg
Turkey - Army Smyrna
The victory conditions remain 18 centers.
This game is conducted under standard EP House Rules:
http://www.diplom.org/DipPouch/Email/ep.house.rules.txt
The following special rules also govern this game:
1. Do not abandon this game. Abandoning this game
will result in you being banned from all future
Dipsters Group games.
2. This game requires that you maintain a decent
ontime ratio. Do not hold up the game by being late.
In the interest of maintaining timely play for all
players in this game, the GM must eject any player
who has been late more than 20% of the time in this
game and has already been late 4 times or more.
3. If you need an absence during the game, you should
do this on your own by submitting a 'set absence'
command to the judge in the following format:
'Set Absence Jan 01 00:00 to Jan 06 23:59'
Just be sure that you have requested your absence
well before you need it because the judge will not
accept an absence request that falls within the
current season.
4. In a press game the GM may eject any player who
continues to be verbally abusive after one warning.
