[30 November 1998] Catching up on some updates. Added a blind variant page to the variants page, updated the link for the German zine Ludomaniac, and updated the maps for the SailHo! variant on the maps page a couple of days back.

[17 October 1998] The Fall 1998 Movement issue of The Zine is finally published.

[11 October 1998] Added another article to the strategy page. Added the Star Trek variant to the variants page and the maps page.

[4 October 1998] Added several articles to the strategy page. Added Diplomacy: The Gathering and the original 1958 version of standard Diplomacy to the variants page.

[28 September 1998] Added a map of the original (1958) version of standard Diplomacy to the maps page.

[25 September 1998] Added the Migrane variant to variants page and maps page, and added a new article for France on the strategy page.

[7 September 1998] Added a gif of the Woolworth II-D variant to the maps page, added the Mobtown II, 1700 II, and War in North America variants to the variants page and maps page.

[21 August 1998] Added the 1600 variant to the variants page and maps page, and added a map of the Woolworth II-D variant to the maps page.

[11 August 1998] Added a color Chromatic map to the maps page and added a file explaining the contents of a judge game listing.

[30 July 1998] The YARS PBEM Player Ratings are back, and now all games from Nick Fitzpatrick's Hall of Fame are included.

[18 July 1998] Updated and added links for the necromancer variant to the variants page, and found a new 1720 gif for the maps page since the web site containing the previous one disappeared.

[14 July 1998] Added the info.classical and info.modern files to the Judge File list and the variants page.

[1 July 1998] The Diplomacy strategy pages have received a major facelift. Also, after substantial digging, over a half dozen articles that were "lost" when the Envoy web site disappeared have been found in other places and are now available again. Links to a couple of articles at tkblack.com are still broken but that site is expected to return after a hiatus.

[30 June 1998] The Spring 1998 Retreat Issue of the Zine has (finally!) been published.

Added the following new maps to the maps page: LiMa 1b, Far East I-R, Downfall XIII, Balkan Wars IV, Africa '82, Invasion 44AD, and Republic. Also updated the map for the Diadokhoi variant.

[20 May 1998] To reduce loading time, the variants page has been broken into three separate pages.

[4 May 1998] The PBEM Player Ratings System has been updated so that game-by-game details for each player are available.

[4 May 1998] The complete individual results for World DipCon VII have been posted in the Face-to-Face section.

[23 April 1998] Added Eric Pederson's Global Diplomacy to the variants page and to the maps page, and added Wes Makin's Chronos Diplomacy to the variants page.

[18 April 1998] Added several variants (River Diplomacy, Hyborian Age II, English Civil War IIa, Middle Earth II, Multiplicity (Simple), 1885, Blood & Iron, Diplomyopia, Fall of Rome, Diplomacy for less than 7 players) to the variants page. Added maps for Blood & Iron, English Civil War IIa, Hyborian Age III, and Middle Earth II maps page.

[9 April 1998] Added several new articles to the strategy pages -- one in the section on alliances, one in the section on France, one on stalemates under miscellaneous (all on the main strategy page), and one on Modern stalemates (on the variants strategy page).

[26 March 1998] We're trying out a new logo on some of the main pages to see what people think. If you either love it or hate it, please let us know. (If you're ambivalent about it, no need to let us know.) It's a larger image but the file size is over 35% smaller so as an added bonus, it should load more quickly.

[25 March 1998] Catching up on some variant and maps page updates. Variants page: added the following variants: Balkan, Black Hole Diplomacy, Diplomacy 2000, War of Europe, and Minor Power. Maps page: updated the PowerPoint version of the standard map to a new version which has "tokens" for easier map editing, added maps for the Balkan variant, added postscript maps for the Heptarchy III and Bretwalda variants, and updated the link for the Empire variants map to the latest version. Oh, and the quotes list is now over 200 quotes long.

[23 March 1998] Added another set of new quotes... now over 175 in all. Also added a Dutch Diplomacy page to the list of non-english Diplomacy pages in the Online Resources section.

[18 March 1998] Added more quotes to the list of randomly-generated quotes at the top of The Diplomatic Pouch's front page. Think you've seen them all? We've got nearly 150 of them!

[13 March 1998] A new version of mapit for UNIX is now available on the Maps Page. Hopefully Mac and PC versions will follow shortly, but if you have a Mac or PC with a C compiler, you should be able to compile the source code with little to no trouble.

[12 March 1998] The Diplomacy Strategy Page is now under DipPouch management, and has been expanded with over a dozen new articles and a new subpage with close to twenty articles devoted to strategy for various Diplomacy variants.

[6 March 1998] Made several updates to the Online Resources section (new URL for the strategy articles page, a new zine, a new non-English Diplomacy page, and the JavaDiplomacy page in the "Other" section.
